Valuation Higgins Entry (1854)
Near the bottom of the page, on
lines 2 & 3 appear Thomas and Michael Higgins. They are living in
Clondoogan. Note the sizes of their farms that were much larger than others in
the same townland. Martin Bruton is also
listed further down. He was married to Rose Higgins, Thomas & Michael’s
sister.

This is a copy obtained in 1946. It
gives Thomas’ parents names, Laurence and Mary Cavanagh Higgins, Thomas’ date
of birth, & of course his date of baptism.
Note one of the sponsors is Annie Cavanagh- perhaps a sister of Mary??

shows Laurence, his wife Mary, and three children, Ellen, Thomas, & Peter.
They are living in the Bronx, although at the time it was listed as
Westchester. Laurence’s occupation is “farm laborer”.

shows Laurence, his wife Mary, and their children Ellen, Thomas, and Mary A.
Laurence lists his occupation as “garden laborer”, Thomas lists his as a
“Teamster”, & Ellen as a “Dressmaker”. The entry gives everyone’s birth
month and year, how long they’ve been married, and notes Mary has had 5
children, all of whom are still living at the time

1, Page 2)
Page 1 gives the date & cause of
death as well as his age and address at the time. Also, the names of his parents are
listed. Page 2 gives the location and
date of his burial.
Thomas Higgins & Mary Moynihan’s Church Marriage
Certificate
This is a copy obtained in 1946. Earle Moynihan and Mary Higgins were the
witnesses.

This gives a little more information.
The addresses of both are listed, as are the names of both sets of
parents. Thomas’ occupation is listed as
“Truckman”. Earle Moynihan & Mary Higgins signed as witnesses.

Higgins’ World War I Draft Registration Card
This is difficult to read, but he
lists himself as married and having his own business. He’s described as having grey hair and blue
eyes.
Mary
Cavanagh Higgins’ Death Certificate
Mary died 7 years after her husband.
Again, her age, address, and date of death are noted. Also, like Lawrence’s
certificate, the names of her parents are listed.
Francis Hunter & Family 1920 U.S. Census Entry
This close-up lists Francis Hunter,
his wife Helen (Higgins), their son Joseph, & Helen’s sister Mary. Francis
is listed as a “Clerk” in the post office.
William Higgins & Family 1920 U.S. Census Entry
Another of Lawrence & Mary’s
children, William is listed here with is wife Mary, his daughters Kate
(Catherine) & Eileen, and mother-in-law (?) Katherine Skinner. William is
listed as a “Riveter” in the shipyards. Their address is 474 60th
St, Brooklyn.

Eileen Higgins, one of William Higgins’
daughters, died in her early 20s from pneumonia and was buried in one of the
plots originally bought by

This is actually a transcript of the
official certificate. It nevertheless gives her address at the time, age, date
of death, and her parents’ names.
